Being that I spend most of my time in the jazz world and "legit" music world, I'm currently involved in a conversation about how electricity ruined acoustic music. Which is effectively a knock on anyone playing electric guitar. Ah...always stuck between many worlds musically. I guess that's a good thing though, allows for some kind of hope of some interesting music to happen.

Finally gonna gig the Marshall setup next week. Still thinking about how I can have that and the Mesa and the Fender going, haha. But currently not any really possibility of making it happening. Actually my biggest problem is just the switching situation.

there are many sophisticated switching systems out there to try. You can def. get a three amp thing going....don't think it would be practical without a stage hand / roadie type to help you out, though

No doubt. I could make a relay switching system (something I do at work occasionally anyways), but more to your second point... doesn't seem practical or worthwhile. .............MOSTLY.

Ty Tabor had a huge sound. One of the best rock tones ever--very thick. Still not sure how he did it. Sco's sound is huge too and stands up right next to Lovano. It's tough to match a sax player though. Maybe you need more dB? Ty was using a Fender Elite Strat with the stock pickups and then overdriving a Gibson Lab L5 amplifier. I believe the guitar's active pickups had enough gain to push the L5.

It’s very mid-rangy in a good way. I’m surprised more don’t copy that sound.
