shot the final clear coat last night. I'm leaving it hanging for a couple of days ... I'll take a photo of it this weekend .... looks a little funky prior to wet sanding. I'll wait a couple of weeks to block sand it with 400 grit and then wait another two weeks before doing the heavy duty wet sanding after it cures. I hope this doesn't end up looking like a bad 'relic' job

Okay, photos of the partially finished body: gtroblq.blogspot.com/2012/05/egos-warmoth-partscaster.htmlThat's 1 can of sand and seal 1 can of primer 2 cans of ocean turquoise 2 cans of clear Sat. I will block sand at 400 grit to level the finish out. In few weeks I'll start the fine sanding and polishing the thing. Ordered the pick guard and pickups today....a set of Lindy Fralin stock (hybrid stagger) tele pups that get that old Broadcaster sound www.fralinpickups.com/telestyle_stock.aspcheck out this vid:

Finishes don't look like finishes until the final glossing buff. Some things can go wrong but lots can be massaged into place then too. Best to be optimistic. It's going to be a nice guitar!

I'm optimistic. I've discovered that the number 1 skill here is patience. Go slow and things work out.

I learned this also. That is why I don't plan on applying finish to another guitar... I'm optimistic. I've discovered that the number 1 skill here is patience. Go slow and things work out.

block sanding at #400 all done. kinda nerve-wracking to be sanding on this stuff. I'll let it set for a couple of weeks, maybe 3, and then dive in with the rest of it.

So do you have a logo decal design for your headstock yet? "Infinite Egocaster?"
