Well, 111 hits before the All-Star game. That's impressive. Most in the AL One more hit to reach 3200. He slumped a bit in June but is on fire again in July. Looks like he will pass Willie Mays before the end of the season.

"A careful reading of official Major League Baseball Rule 6.08(b) suggests that in this situation, the batter would be considered "hit by pitch", and would be eligible to advance to first base."
Giving new meaning to "Take one for the team." ;-)

Geez. Where does it end? how many good years left you think? probably one or two really good years.....hitting .280 or better 350 more hits, give or take, on top of the 40 or so he'll get this year 3600ish then a few years as a part-timer hitting .260ish off the bench (maybe 200 ABs per season) 200 more hits, give or take, finishing his career with 3800ish hits putting him at #3 all time But, you never know, Rose went on a tear in his 40s like nobody before. Jeter could be heating up for a 4 or 5 year hell ride and could throw up another 900 hits. You just never know. Sports medicine is light years from where it was just 20 years ago and he's obviously a genetic freak that avoids major physical problems. My god, not many guys play SS for 18 MLB years.

Yeah. It's weird. He has a strange way of avoiding the "chronically injured player list" consistently.
