I was reading somewhere that in 1999 he had a stretch of 190 at-bats where he hit .400 over that stretch. He's a long way from that but still impressive. If he stays in shape and works hard in off-seasons he might have three or four really productive years left and that would get him near 4K. Who knows?

This has been a weird season so far... overall, teams aren't scoring many runs but there are a handful of hitters who are just hammering the ball. Josh Hamilton hit 9 home runs this week. I guess they weren't kidding with those Mickey Mantle comparisons |

Hamilton is probably the best ball player in the American League. I mean, really, he's just a freak of nature. Imagine if he could stay on the field for 150 games per year.
