Reading that excerpt from Kulick about EVH: I knew that EVH always claimed Clapton as an influence, so it's cool to hear that he learned the tunes of his idol. He wasn't just paying lip service. Because when I hear EVH wail, I don't hear a lot of Clapton--maybe the vibrato, but Clapton's vibrato seems a lot smoother and not as frenzied.
