How long is the lease good for with this forum?
A few threads at Facebook have stimulated the idea that forums like this are still good for building an archive to invest selves in. Why write a lengthy post on Facebook if it'll only disappear under the stream within a day or two.
And Facebook is good for keeping the daily social riffing going, ideas flowing, ephemeral links, etc.
Is it worthwhile to revive activity here, and then post links to Facebook as we add to it?

Well, we tried that when we first realized that most of our forum participants had been sucked into the black hole of FB but it wasn't successful at all.
This board will be here indefinitely I suppose. Another problem we have is that it's not like we can ethically take stuff from FB and dump it in here either because that group is set to "secret" and people should expect that what they write in "secret" isn't published out in the open over here.

Facebook just fucked everything up. It's pretty much that simple. It sucks and most people are fine with stuff that sucks and online interactions that are reduced to clicking a thumbs-up thingy and moving on to the next boring meme

It's worth a shot. Now to see if anybody can focus and contribute thoughts or if people (including myself) prefer a homogenized stream and brevity.

I shiver with power, I ache with disease.
Thinking: I tried every "legacy" password I could remember from those days and none of them would work. I'll use this one I think. My guess is the forum forced me to use a "randomly generated" password that was saved in the browser cache of my old computer (now my wife's computer) so it's probably history.

Heh, that's living large on the internet. I only join a few forums, carefully select passwords, and like an old grandmother carefully wrap them in figurative tissue for safekeeping with old photos and tchotchkes.
