It's a lefty but what an interesting design: chambered mahogany body, set-neck, padauk/maple 5 piece neck material, cocobolo fretboard, 26" scale - mag + piezo, plus a really nice Japanese motif on both the body and neck (cherry blossoms), plus interesting tonal options. Kind of like a souped up Fender Musiclander/Swinger but with set-neck, chambered construction and nice tonal modifications. Name is a rough translation to "Plum Princess" huh..... www.kraushaar-gitarren.de/cms/umehime.htmlLook at the lightbox to see close-ups, it's really striking. Clean demo: Distorted demo: Nice to see someone doing an interesting design that has some nods to the past but goes off in a totally unexpected direction for some other things.

When I saw those Q-tuner pickups I formed an anticipatory sound image in my mind and when he strummed it it was nearly identical to what I expected.

Pretty guitar. And yep, those pickups sound transparent and "ferrous".

I was surprised at the distortion tones. I expected a milder sound but clean was kind of spot on.
