Cut the Cobalts off to put these on. I think the tone goes to the Pyramids over the Cobalts. It's very, very close but the Inspector Detector detected maybe a 5% difference between the two.
For a set of $6 strings you cannot beat these for sound. Among all the non-pure nickel strings these sound the very best.
Fretting hand feel goes to the Cobalts but my picks like the Pyramids a tad better. Weird, no?
I'd give the bending ease to the EB Cobalts
As for sound, wow, put the ID on high gain and play jazz chords and those seventh and third intervals just ooze and melt together in a way that would make Vernon Reid blush.
You can't go wrong either way but these strings are amazing. I like the pure nickel Pyramids a little more but I can't deal with the vagaries associated with round core strings.
Compared to the Mangans: I'd give the feel and bend aspect to the Mangans but these Pyramids sound just a bit better
Got $20 lying around and you should experiment by comparing a set of Mangan, Cobalts, and these Pyramids to see which you prefer.

I've wanted to try Pyramids for years, never ever saw any in a store. Mail order is cheap though. You can't argue with the price. I wonder how the longevity is.
Did you try these on one of your guitars with stainless frets or was it just a normal fretboard? I suspect we'll have to standardize to determine.
I have to say I have been enjoying those Sperzel locking tuners on that new guitar, stringing up has never been easier.
