Happened at an old workplace. This woman who was pushing mid fifties in terms of age but Pavement was her favorite band and I'm not sure what album it was but she played it every day, all day long. I can probably still figure out in my head all the chord progressions for guitar and bass and solos for that thing, whatever it was even though I didn't personally really enjoy it but it didn't take long to map it in my head and internalize it.

Familiarity breeds affection. And anything can become familiar (for better or worse).

It's not always easy to tease out the Enjoyment from the Stockholm Syndrome.

There was a time I really hated certain kinds of music but the more I've learned music; in particular ear training stuff; I don't really hear the "styles" like I used to. I hear the music at a much more "pure" level of chords and intervals etc... That has completely changed my opinion of styles; which is really the only difference between the music we love and hate.
Saying all that; if it's a rehashed old thing done a million times; I don't really care what style it is; I probably won't get into it. I don't hate it like I used to I just get bored with it in the first 5 seconds. Haha.
