Hey guys My daughter has this hilarious terrible book about digging up dinosaurs; the lyrics are priceless so my wife and I have been singing the words for over a year now and it's turned into a joke. The best part is the last verse which goes like this: "Dig a dig a dinosaur they may have disappeared because of meteors space rocks hit the earth and dust blocked out the sun then the earth was cold and now they're gone gone gone" ;D How couldn't I make an epic prog tune out of it??? Hope you enjoy! www.reverbnation.com/timmirthFirst tune on my Reverbnation page... haha.

Actually I'm using EZdrummer (programmed drums) with the samples from the Meshuggah guy. They sound pretty good for this kind of thing. I pretty much rewrote all the drum parts to fit the song.

I gotta hear this. I bet it rivals "Bobby and Betty Go to the Moon" - a weird kids record that I still have that basically involves sending two pre teen children to the moon unaccompanied by adults. After they land, the whole second side of the record is a 20+ minute acid rock bad trip "The Party at Lunar Central". It's honestly one of the most disturbing things I've ever heard that was commercially released. You can hear Bobby and Betty's oxygen running out while wirey surf licks blast thru their intercom and the last thing they hear with their dying breaths on the moon is the wanking of some 60s proto-surf rock tunes. The ultimate in "they didn't like kids and couldn't get a babysitter so they sent the kids to the moon. To die."

Okay: "Diga Dinosaur" rivals anything ever recorded by Dream Theater, Pagan's Mind, Michael Angelo Batio or any of those prog metal acts. This is amusing enough to be funny with the lyrics but the guitar bits are good enough to thrill any shred-head. Bravo!

Wow, thanks ASB! I was definitely going for that vibe. I've come to realize recently that I can play so pretty extreme stuff in that style,. I think it could be worth my while to attack the prog thing completely, but maybe funnily like Zappa. could be fun, could result in some more fans. who knows though.

Just gave this a spin. Awesome. It is perverse how some of those kid books worm into your subconscious.
Great playing.
