Yeah, definitely a neat article. Being someone who rather flourishes in the big city environment (i love the drone of a big city) I haven't thought too much about the quiet spaces sadly. I do agree we should protect them, but 1000 miles is pretty tough. Still, I'd love to visit some of these places.

Good to read. That the rich sonic experience of the unpaved landscape and recognition of one's own noisy mind are unknown to _% of the population is more than a little sad. 1000 square miles ... will be a challenge.
