Thought I posted this on here. I don't see it though (so if I did ) Playing some Holdsworthy like stuff over the tune Solar. Kind of sloppy and all that, haven't done much Legato these days, and there's 12s on this guitar, but I think it came out pretty close to that whole vibe. Maybe I should spend more time on legato playing. Without further adieu....

Thanks for checking it out. I've been a lot more open to letting my early influences come through my playing. I went through a pretty hardcore "advanced" jazz thing for about 8 years, kind of forgetting about the Vai's and shredding in general. It's been quite nice actually.

I think he's right. I also think it was good to take the side track. It allows me to see things I've never seen. It allows me to hear in a way I never would have, had I stuck with the "shredder" route. It will allow me to be creative in it a way that no one has before. And that's exciting too.
