Some people saw on Facebook me mention this crazy guitar part I'm learning for a new project I'm involved in. Seriously not sure if I'll be able to get it. Its written by a sax player (those bastards)....It's possible to do with sweeping, probably the "easiest" in a way. I'm much much better at tapping though, but it doesn't lay really well that way. I'm attaching the pdf of the section. The song is at 140BPM....I can play it around 60BPM right now (oh man)....I've mapped out how I was practicing it. I put all the pulloffs at the beginning or end of phrases..I am horrible at pull offs inside a sweep, only okay where it's changing direction or stopping. Some people wanted to see it, thought I'd share it for all. It's a bitch right??? Attachments:

And he wants you to play it on acoustic? Is he a mashochist who hates guitarists?
I'd like to hear what you have so far just to see if there isn't some other way to execute it so it sounds like sweeping but doesn't necessarily have to BE sweeping to achieve the effect.

Well, it doesn't have to be sweeping, but there's not really any other way to do it that fast, except maybe tapping....them are some wide intervals.
Actually it's on electric too, it just sounds better as acoustic in those midi programs, haha.

BTW, this is just one part of it, the rest of the song is quite tricky rhythmically. But that I can deal with....We're rehearsing this weekend, but I know I won't get this part down. Not happening.

Holy cow, I might be able to do that at 40bpm.

Well believe it or not I got it up to 110 BPM this morning. I guess I may be able to get it. I hope that this band makes it big so I can do one of those "I bet you can't play this" videos. Haha.
If I get it one day, I'll do a video and show how I'm playing it. Pretty interesting study. Hopefully the unorthodox(ity) of it will add a dimension to my playing I never had before and make sweeping something I can do effortlessly....How's that for optimism!
