Yours?
I wandered aimlessly into Guitar Center and Sam Ash recently, a less-than-once-a-year occurrence. Two newer PRS (a 305 and a Custom 24) were easily the nicest guitars among the couple dozen I played (along with a MusicMan Luke 3). That's not an impressive context but I never once bonded with a PRS before. The Regular Pattern necks are quite nice and the builds were flawless. And both sounded great.

Looks very nice. I've been playing since the 1980s and have never played a PRS

Looks very nice. I've been playing since the 1980s and have never played a PRS Me neither I am glad I am not the only one. I suspect that I would really like them, as I love USA Hamers.

Of the USA stuff, I've only played a CE-22 in a store. Incredibly nice neck. Didn't plug it in because I didn't want to set myself for major disappointment if I liked it. Still can't really afford one.

Yeah, I know that feeling. I love guitars and just cannot get enough of them. Been sick with it since '82 ;-)

I've never owned one either, only played a few rightys (I play lefty) in the store. The neck seemed pretty stellar. Didn't plug in though. Can't imagine spending 4 grand on a guitar at this point in my life and even then I'd probably lean towards Suhr, Tyler, Anderson, or Vigier among others before PRS. Still they're very beautiful.

Me too. I just like guitars. Loooovve playing them, like browsing varieties for their imagined potentials, don't want or need to own most of them. Lots of good quality options below the luxury-class.

So the other day I was in my local Guitar Center which is like two blocks from my day gig making it easy to visit when lunch is over and I'm bored.
I was sitting there walking down the aisle of the spendy prs guitars hitting the low E string and all of them were okay sounding. But one particular studio was SUPER LOUD acoustically, it was close to four times as loud acoustically.
I took it off the rack and played it and though it needed a setup (lots of the spendy PRS' in that store sit there for ages before someone buys them and a little adjustment is probably warranted). Seemed like a great guitar but I was really amazed at how much louder acoustically it was than the other 15 or so there.
When I got back there yesterday that guitar is now sitting WAY up high out of the reach of short guys like me but I wonder if someone said "put it up there so few can touch it, I can't afford it now but I want it down the road."
Sure seemed nice and the wood was really lovely.
