Finally at the top of the list for the Analogman King of Tone pedal. ;D ;D ;D Anyone get one? Can't decide if I want to do the high gain options or not. AnalogMike seems to think it's only a few notches higher than the normal gain.
Pretty pumped.I'll let you know what I decide, and what I think of it when I get it.

What makes you think this pedal is worth $235 The overdrive, fuzz, and distortion market is a swamp of snake oil. There are probably more than 100 pedals out there that do the same transparent low gain TS thing for less. I listened to the samples and this thing sounds like a lot of other pedals. I hope you're not taking advice from people at TGP

Is this the fabled KOT overdrive? Is it like the fabled COT overdrive? One/both/same have good a rep(s), dunno firsthand.
Anecdotal: AnalogMan modified a Boss overdrive for me many years ago and it did indeed sound much different and imho "better", more dynamic and transparent than its factory fresh character. I was pleased in that case. And he stuck candy in the battery compartment (literally; it was wrapped).

Well, I've read good things about it. Even if it ends up being a dud, I can easily sell it for at least the same price I bought it for. Routinely I see them being sold in the 3 or 400s. If I don't like it, I'll use the money I get back for the el Capistan. I figure, why not see what it's like. Unlike many of the companies I've seen out there, analogman for the most part seems fairly reasonable, especially with mods.
Oddly enough, this pedal probably costs more than the total of my current gigging setup (I literally have an 8 dollar new delay pedal that I even recorded with). Still, I could see my tone getting better.
I guess I'll see. But at least it's kind of like 2 pedals in one. If I were to get a OCD and a TS-9 or something, I'd be spending at least 235.
Also, never taken any advise from TGP, haha, or anyone for that matter. I do like there gear emporium though. Got a sweet amp modded for a lot less than they go new.

^ That sounds entirely reasonable. Hope it works out.

I have a dead-on clone of one of these, done by one of the fellows on the Madbean forum. Really, really great pedal. Unless you're hoping for really high gain out of the pedal, I think you'll be happy with the lower gain version.
If you haven't figured this out yet, it's a modified Marshall Bluesbreaker (well, two of them side by side). So, nothing totally new, but it's a really nice circuit. You won't be disappointed.
