Sons of Goldfinger/ David Torn

Took a sudden trip to Denver last Friday specifically to see David Torn play with Tim Berne and Ches Smith. Finally something constructive to come from Facebook, when I saw the gig notice on Thursday morning.

Friday morning I was driving north (444 miles from Albuquerque to Denver). Jamming great music, and enjoying the scenery.

It was a wonderful evening of improvised tunes! Noisy as hell, and I loved every second. I was parked right in the front, bearing the brunt of Torn's twin VHT's (rentals).

I shot a crappy Iphone segment from the second set, and posted to youtube.



Denver seems to have a cool music scene, and I met some nice folks. ASB promises to meet me there the next time!

I think it's a Koll. It has a mic and buttons like a Tesla.

yup, a Koll, and he played a button solo that developed into something real nice! I didnt get that on video, as my memory filled up real fast....

Actually, speaking of potentially meeting people - I'm going on an extended roadtrip in october - wife sprang for concert tickets in Toronto so me and a friend are going to roadtrip to Toronto, then from there down to New York state and then to Washington DC since we want to see the Smithsonian Air and Space museum then heading back all by car. It would be cool to meet some folks while I'm out and about.

ASB: life is in upheaval (in good/neutral ways), but if all aligned correctly I might be able to meet you somewhere in TO or NY. Unlikely at present but worth considering. I'm roughly in the neighborhoods of Mirth and Chrome. Are you going to Manlius?

Not sure if I'll make it to Manlius - I need to study the pre-planned trip map to see if that's the case.
