From about 1988 until about 1995 I was part of a recording collective that we called "crash". It was myself, one member from Hydravian my old band and the keyboardist from a band Kevin had been in called Global Theater. I uploaded a bunch of instrumental material from this collective to my soundcloud page: soundcloud.com/aliensporebombI've uploaded ten pieces from various recordings we did. There's a lot more. We must have recorded hundreds of hours of music. Some of that music was used for the theme song for a cable TV comedy show among other weirdness. All of this with very few exceptions were recorded on four track cassette tape with DBX so some sources were mono, some were stereo. On and off I've flown this stuff into the computer to try and make it listenable. Some of it seems like it might be of interest to the group here since it's some stuff that kind of pointed to where I went later with the ASB stuff. Some of it is insanely complicated music. Anyway, dig it!

Time capsule! Sounds like the era for sure. Good, fun to hear.

I will get around to checking this out soon. Been so swamped with work, mixing and artwork for this upcoming album, I really don't know what day it is, haha.

I should put up "guitar zero", it was the neutron bomb of guitar battles back in the day but with 80s drums. I questioned my sanity for not putting it up.

I'm listening to Guitar Zero right now. The one thing that sticks out as sounding "80's", to me, is the bass. I don't mean that in a bad way at all. It sounds pretty good for 4 track cassette.

Yeah. Yamaha should have hired us to show how you can make 4-track cassette a usable medium for recordings.
I think Kevin played the bass thru my mesa preamp on that one if I remember right or maybe it was his Carvin SX guitar amp's line out, I forget.
