So I did this gig at this place that sells my CDs - I do this every now and then to stimulate people to buy the things and have an additional attraction for the store - it was kind of a light turnout than usual since the temperature was nearing 100 and I suspect a lot of people were at the local beaches since it was that kind of weather. They had live music (me), food, and some baked goods in addition to what they usually sell.
There was this crazy woman there with her daughter and they spent most of the time I was there making balloon animal and food creations.
As in, balloons simulating food items, animals and other things to make it more "fanciful".
This ultimately ruined a lot of the quiet mood I usually cultivate for the gig with the squeaking of human skin on balloons (you know the sound, grating and obnoxiously loud), the loud sounds of inflation using a weird pump device, and the sounds of balloons popping or being tied into contorted shapes.
She eventually left but it's too bad, I did some louder more interesting stuff but this is the only listenable thing not ruined by stretching balloon sounds and pumping.

Your gigs are nothing if not odd. There's always one weird aspect like balloon lady or mad as hatter artist....

You should work out some improv with the balloon lady, maybe get some body mics on her for processing.

I totally attract every weirdo in the county. It's uncanny. Next gig is at an outdoor festival/bazaar sponspored by some local coffee outfit - we'll see how that goes.
Oh and the place with the insane lady - they emailed me about the 20th anniversary of the lowertown art crawl and wanted me there. I said sure if I'm well away from the had hatter!

Oh I forgot to mention: balloon lady had a ringtone on her cell that went off once. It was "Barbie Girl" by Aqua. Horrifying.

Perhaps get her number and call her yourself while playing.

Yes, mic the room with PZMs to a small mixer, then fade in the weird noises people make as they are making them.
