Hey. Anyone have a Boomerang looper. While my current set-up is great for playing solo, I have some troubles getting a loop in sync when playing with others - wondering if a dedicated looper might be the answer.
Also, anyone have the re-issue EHX 16 second delay looper? Always drooled over the original.

I owned/used a Boomerang years ago. It was not that flexible or powerful back then. The company was (and probably still is) just one guy who struggles with timely updates and service. I had to send my first unit in for repair because the input jack was the cheapest possible plastic that broke, literally, the first time I used it live. If I was going to get a hardware looper now it would be the EH unit.

Only played the new boomerang looper (the III) for a few mins at Rick Canton's shop, but it seemed cool. It has pretty good reviews from some folks that were not as kind to the earlier version. I would like to spend more time with it, but I already have too many loopers!

The LP-1 is my primary looper, but still use the Echoplex. They each have their strengths and I love them both.
I also have the EH Memory Man/Hazari which I don't like at all, and the Line6 M9 which is just okay as a looper (better than the DL-4 for sure).
Loopers are fun!

I don't use the Hazari as a looper either. But this looks cool www.ehx.com/products/2880I was 'this close' to getting one last year but found that Reaper is pretty awesome for looping.

I use my Hazarai as a looper for all of my live solo performances (of which two are coming up the weekend after next at the ArtCrawl in Minneapolis (where people come with MONEY who want to buy CDs and such) and also possibly the Shadows Faire if they're not angry with me for opting to try a new venue rather than their rather insular event on Sunday).
It's 30 seconds of 24-bit looping - It's basically a tap tempo type deal and I don't always do the timing right myself so any limitations are in myself not the device.
But it can do a lot more than loops - chorus, flange, phase, time delay, modulation, reverb, all kinds of stuff The stuff that makes peoples jaws drop is when I reverse the loop and then sometimes make it grind to a halt.
That's always good for a round of applause when I do it usually.
If I had the cash I'd be using a pair of Digital Echoplexes for stereo but I'm guessing that kind of cash isn't coming my way so I'd have to get a Boss ME-50 or something like a Macbook Pro with Augustus Loop on it and control the Augustus using a midi pedalboard.
I don't know. I should check out some other things to see if they do what I do better than I already do it.
