A relative wants to leave you something nice after they're gone so they let you choose between:
A. house appraised at approx. $275,000
or
B. guitar and amp (real '59 LP + real Trainwreck Express)
What would you choose?

Okay, that guy has a really excellent set-up and he's obviously been playing it for darned near forever but yeah, great.
I'd go for the Lester and the Trainwreck - I work in real estate in my day gig (I.T. side) and I bet the guitar and amp will appreciate more!

Haha, I'd have to agree with ASB, though I'm not sure I could sell my wife on that!

I'll go with the house - property is tax free for inheritance. With a little depreciation you can write off a capital loss. That being said, nice tone.

Oh yeah I forgot about that. Sigh. But that house can't sound like that guitar and amp.

I'd go for the house, I'm sure the guitar is a righty anyways.

As ASB mentioned, choice B is far more likely to increase in value Unless of course the house is in Dallas..you can get a pretty nifty house there for about $275k. Of course, you would have to live in Dallas

A 275k house in Akron is a mansion, probably with a pool and hot tub, at least 5 bedrooms and in good shape. Can't say I miss that about NYC, where that kind of money would only get you half a studio apartment on a shitty neighborhood.
