Last night there was an hour or so long demo at the local guitar center on the new Helix LT by a Line6 staffer doing the demo.
It didn't cover features on the Helix (that came later) so much as "here we are cloning the sounds of famous players".
There was a giveaway afterwards where you could win a book on famous amps (to study for cloning) and regional winners could win Line6's new guitar wireless product.
I was invited to take pictures but not record any audio or video of the proceedings. Hmmmm.
He had the thing set up going through an FRFR type system and was doing various demos - essentially emulating Eric Johnson, Alex Lifeson (Rush), Jimi Hendrix and James Hetfield.
I'll post pics of his slideshow deck a little later and I'll talk about how it sounded later.
There were about a dozen people in attendance - I felt that it was better suited to someone who already owned the product rather than those were thinking about buying but the it was about 35% owners and the remaining percentage people thinking about it.

Interesting. I like the standard helix layout features but haven't heard anything that made me think it sounded better than the HD500 (which sounds pretty good but not axefx territory)..what did you think of the sound quality?

I'll post pics and do a full review once I get back to the hacienda. The patches he created ranged from spot on (he did a perfect 'every breath you take' by the Police) to "that's now how that record sounds". Some of it was just not being familiar with the equipment and effects on the original record and some of it is I think his programming techniques need some further polish.
