More reflections on recent WashPost article

Maybe the recent WashPost/NPR articles have a point after all.

Honest to God, I got a telephone call this afternoon on my cell from the local Guitar Center appraising me that there was a 15% off sale taking place tomorrow and I should stop if I wanted to partake in the deals they had.

They've either taken a page from the Sweetwater playbook or the article has them scared shitless.

More after I visit tomorrow....lol.

Wow. I realize that many people take the 4th of July holiday to go "up north" to "the lake" (a common pastime amongst minnesotans and wisconsinites) but the guitar center I visited was curiously thinly populated. It was a beautiful day too so not too many wanted to hang in a guitar store when they could be hanging out on a boat on a lake or hanging at the beach. Guitar was a hard sell compared to that.

The aforementioned bass teacher who lived in our back bedroom (he needs an pseudonym, I'll call him the mole - speaking of the mole, some info on him forthcoming) always had kids dropping bass lessons for soccer or similar summer sport-type activities and he's go from being broke to even broker.

That being said I saw the mole several times at the recent King Crimson concert so it means he slimed forth from Rhinelander, Wisconsin to visit to see the show. The first time I saw him, I turned suddenly and glared at him (because he still owes us money we will never see) and he looked nervous and upset and ran in the other direction. That incident repeated itself no less than three times. Good fun.
