Is anyone making a one pickup w/whammy production model these days?

Is the purpose of the slanted bridge HB pickup to produce more bass response in the lower strings? This is something I never really considered until now. Just thought it was a cosmetic choice but perhaps there's actually some benefit to it?

you can slant a pickup to create higher highs or lower lows, and, really, once you slant it you get both relative to the thing itself

Neat. I wonder why this isn't done more these days. Perhaps it's just to avoid the 80s cosmetics comparison?

Also makes palm muting come out more. I wonder though if tilting the other way would let make the bass less flubby and the treble less shrill? Possibly with a rounder lead sound. Hmm, does anyone tilt the other way?

I have seen some shredders with the rear hummer slanted reverse as you describe
