there's some mega tool who has a crazy PRS collection ....he actually buys a lot of asian import PRS (the SE stuff) and sends them to the USA factory to have shit tons of custom work done on them. Just insane.

That seems more expensive than just buying a US made PRS. But maybe not?

The guy in the video at the top of the thread owns a for hire recording studio and also is a session musician, guitar lesson provider and "youtuber" which means he has enough fans to make a video like the one above lucrative for him financially. He also does gear reviews and is peripherally known for helping a new and suddenly popular female guitar youtuber ("The Adventures of Guitar Girl") her start on her channel giving her tech advice and help. He appeared in some of her videos and she appeared in his (he is her teacher and giving her lessons). This introduced new popularity for the both of them.
if I had that many guitars, all of them would get played at some point, no dust allowed. And also, some of that crap would have been sold off. He has some really nice ones and some ones that make me go "you have $6000 guitars, why are you hawking pure beginner Harley Benton guitars in 'guitar reviews'? - these are obviously basic, beginner, intro level instruments?". I guess you gotta make money somehow.
