Will read later, but in general I dislike almost all prog. Rush is about as far as I can go, and then not too often.

It's hilarious to me that they mentioned Meshuggah and Opeth but not Dream Theater, lol.
I wonder if prog rock would gain more status again if it took on the extravagant stage shows again? I mean half the prog shows these days are so "serious"....not fun, funny or ridiculous. They're over the top on chops but not stage show. I have to imagine that was part of the original appeal...?

Roundabout is such a great song. Reading that article reminded me of it. I'm a big fan of a lot of these groups and music. I really love Pink Floyd (Roger Waters era), and Tool is heavily influenced by King Crimson. Lots of great music. Not really into Dream Theater.

I like a good bit of prog, though certainly not all of it.
I find a lot of prog vocals to be the weak spot, though I like some songs despite their vocals.
