I've talked about it before...but many times I really think I should stop using picks. My tendency with picks is to pick way too much (it's easy). Alternate picking has been about the easiest thing for me as far as guitar technique goes, that coupled with lots of jazz playing and I tend to always pick every note unless I really intently don't do it. My problem woth that is I just think guitar sounds better when it's more lyrical...
But I also am not really a fan of the Brett Garsed always play legato style...hmm....
At home I have guitars around and don't always have a pick, so I play a decent amount with my fingers only...if I had any balls I'd never use a pick again. Haha.

Brett doesn't always play legato, it just sounds like he does - heh. If you watch his videos he does use it but he's got some interesting stuff that sounds legato-esque that's not legato. I don't get it.
I sometimes play more with fingers than picked of late.
Terrible. Gotta get back to picking I think.

I almost always include playing sans pick when I practice. I do finger style a bit and the beck method

I'm still learning to hybrid pick and I like that better than fingers only. Yes, I "lose" a finger but I like the flexibility of moving quickly between standard picking and hybrid.
