This is why I prefer to gig in Europe, 50hz hum is so much better.

I get a really annoying 50Hz buzz from a light dimmer, too lazy to change it, just got to embrace it, or turn the lights off....

Yeah, I have some appliance in my house that can drive me nuts if I let it. When I record I have to wait until the house is empty and go around and turn everything off

The fridge thermostat gives off a mighty click that has ruined many a recording.
(Cannot turn the fridge off, there's beer in it)

My wife's quadcore mac injects ac buzz into the electricity in our office which is indicative of the power supply in that mac dying. It already got a replacement power supply when I owned it but the replacement is failing so.......She needs a new computer but that costs money and it works perfectly fine except for that "feature".
If you listen to my new record (everyone should, seriously) the track 'new interface' was recorded on a strat with stock pickups direct into the mesa studio with some modulation and delay into the board. That's the single coil sound and it's fine.
But lately I've been shutting the wife's computer OFF when I record because unless it's in deep sleep or off it even makes low noise humbuckers sound like a live hive.

Well, she doesn't play guitar (she plays piano and viola di gamba and has tried guitar but her fingers don't really have that reach they would need).
But if she bought ME a new guitar, well that would be win-win.
