Uh yeah, some of that implies 10 gigabit fiberchannel ethernet (reading the article and the link to the networking forum where they are wiresharking the thing to death to figure out its secrets).
This is seriously cool because everyone knows Google pretty much has their own custom hardware for things but nobody outside of google has seen it. So who mis-shipped this?
And how fired are they?
Update: read that article fully and looked at the networking-forum.com thread. WOW! That would be like the CIA sending you some of their custom stuff by accident (3 jobs ago I worked for a printer company where the spooks had some of our stuff and sometimes they'd call and say "the printer is connected to a switch. upstream of the switch is a device we cannot talk about. then upstream from that..).".
Very cool find and that they got pics too!

One day Google will rule the world, haha. Not sure if that'd be better or not.

Nice. Now we need to start seeing petabit capable network cards and we'll be in business.
And we need bigger drives please. Screw all this cloud crap.

Yeah - Kittinger did it first but it's cool that someone is going to try to beat his record. Lots of potential for serious problems but if he does succeed would be great if they put an HD camera on him.

Do they have a date for this yet? I didn't see it anywhere?
I hope they have like 50 HD cameras on him. It could look so amazing.

I've been following the developments on graphene for about 8 months now - lots of promise there. Like anything else it's going to be expensive at first but it also promises improvements in other types of products as well. Stay tuned!

A friend of mine who is involved with web hosting and green building has been extolling the virtues of graphene, and thinks that if only more research were being done, it could solve a lot of problems. The science of it is beyond me, but this seems like cool stuff.
