He's such a freaking monster player...man....he sucks as a loyal brand person, but you know he's helping sell any guitar he puts his hands on.

I think it's pretty funny that EBMM did not make him a sig. guitar but, instead, just gave him an old used one from the 90s -- as if they were putting him on probation

This dude was baiting him though. He was like, "Come on Johnny--play my guitar on video and say nice things about it."

Well, I've played those guitars. The first Chapman Guitars dealer in the entire U.S. is in St. Joseph Minnesota not far away and I've attended their warehouse sale. My thinking: the Chapman guitars are indeed nice but for some reason, Rob seems to want them to require a chiropractor to play. The guitars are built by World Music in South Korea and in the same factory the PRS SE guitars are made. However, the Chapman's are freaking HEAVY. They had a really nice looking Soloist-look-alike that weighed somewhere around 12-13 pounds. Try one if you get a chance, they're nice guitars but some of them are purposely physically heavy in weight. Not completely certain why.

usually heavy wood is cheaper wood. there are some exceptions, for example, Alembic makes some boat anchors but you're not getting one cheap.
Jerry Garcia's Wolf guitar was more than 13 lbs. Holy shit.

Played an Alembic a while back that had a hex pickup, regular output, XLR connector, massively laminated body (looked like the 6-string guitar version of Stanley Clarke's basses) and man that thing was more solid than Osmium. It was pretty and expensive and freaking heavy. Hmmmmm.

This: www.riffcityguitaroutlet.com/products/chapman-ml-1-norseman-guitar-red-with-gig-bagI tried this one and I could have sworn it was a neckthru or set neck. Notice all specs are carefully listed except weight. I am guessing between 10-12 pounds, possibly as high as 13. Also, very interestingly, this one was made in norway by a manufacturer there. The thing felt very decent quality but I suspect they still have these because the weight is turning people off. Just a guess. Don't be surprised if I end up with one!

Wow! That is heavy, Todd. Are any of his guitars made in the US?

Ah I see the affiliation with the norwegian music distributor came about because they "designed" that Norseman guitar as a variation on the ML-1 design. So they got exclusive rights to distribute (and they got an exclusive burst color too) for the first three months of distribution. The UK/US models get two different shades of gray and a red one.
Word is a "Norseman Mark II" is coming out with a different wood complement probably. But, when I said I might end up with one there's something compelling about the wood mix they used on that one. Yeah it's heavy but it feels like a quality piece of kit. And the neck felt really nice (I'm a sucker for ebony boards on certain types of necks). And the quilt top is a real quilt not a veneer for those who care about that sort of thing.
As an aside I think it's HILARIOUS that they named the humbuckers "passive aggressive" because their first US distributor is based in Minnesota (you may know the term "minnesota nice" which is a polite way of saying passive aggressive....)
